Antique English Victorian Mourning Pin, Brooch in 12k Gold with Seed Pearls and Deep Cobalt Kiln-fired Enamel

Icons of mourning: the dark blue of evening sky at end of day, meaning end of life, and the beautiful seed pearls which represented the tears of the mourner. This Victorian era beauty is engraved on back with the monogram “H L”, those of a friend or loved one who had passed away. Full measurements are noted on the photos.

Very good to excellent condition for age and type. It is a Victorian pin. Fine quality 2 mm pearls with pristine lustre, and cobalt sky encircled with a black border for the mourner’s loss. Gold has been acid tested at 12k. Box not included.
