Heavy 14k – 16k multicolor gold bracelet clasp, or necklace clasp, would have been strung with 9 strands of seed or larger pearls, rubies or garnets. Large at 36 mm x 20 mm plus tongue insert, the clasp weighs 14.67 grams as you see it. Dates c.1780-1850. Georgian to Victorian era, the main body of heavy gauge bespoke clasp acid tests at 14k and the entire heavy cast into which gems are set acid tests at 16k. As of today, 1.12.2026, this gold is valued at over $1200.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, I can see a small bump scratch on a gem or two. I’ve enlarged it from each side for your full inspection of the cut stones and heavy bespoke jewelry clasp. No damage to the gold, slightly rough and feels like a Bohemian Baroque piece more than English. I can’t even remember where I found this one, and I’ve owned it for decades.
