From my own collections of decades: Antique 12k Gold and seed pearl hair art mourning brooch, c 1780s to 1820, Georgian Era. Total weight: 6.39 grams. Double row of fine seed pearls, each representing the tears of the mourner. Plaiting of dark blond hair inside, and no engraving on back. I sometimes use these grouped on a jacket lapel, or clasped over a strand of pearls – so many compliments!
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. Brooch is 25 mm x 20 mm x 4 mm plus pin back, and seed pearls are 1 mm for larger outer row and .5 mm for smaller inside row, none missing. No breaks and no dents. Superb Georgian jewelry!
